SUGARING
Sugaring is an effective, gentle, and vegan hair removal method that also exfoliates the skin, leaving it silky smooth. The treatment removes dead skin cells, leaving the skin looking younger and healthier. Sugaring is not just hair removal; it also serves as a monthly skin cleansing, removing dyes and chemicals that may have adhered to the skin from clothing. After the treatment, it's easy to care for the skin at home, and creams absorb quickly into the hair-free skin. Additionally, sugaring brightens tattoos by removing dead skin cells from their surface.
Sugaring can be performed on many different areas of the body, such as the hairline, eyebrows, nose hair, various parts of the face, underarms, back, chest, arms, fingers, feet, toes, legs, thighs, bikini line, buttocks, and genital area.
Sugaring occurs at skin temperature, making it safe for all skin areas, including those with varicose veins. After treatment, the sugar paste is easily cleaned with warm water and does not leave a sticky feeling on the skin. The sugar paste does not adhere to skin cells, allowing for safe and gentle hair removal. The method does not break hair or cause discomfort, and it also effectively removes very short hair. Over time, sugaring can cause hair follicles to shrink, potentially leading to permanent hair removal.
BEFORE THE TREATMENT
Preparing for a sugaring treatment can help ensure that the procedure goes as smoothly as possible and that the end result is the best it can be. Here are some tips for preparation:
1. Let the hair grow to the appropriate length: Hair should be about 0.5–1 cm long for effective sugaring. However, don't let the hair grow too long, as it can make the treatment more painful.
2. Avoid the sun: Avoid sunbathing or tanning beds for at least 24 hours before the treatment, as sunburned skin can be more sensitive and prone to irritation.
3. Exfoliate the skin: A few days before the treatment, it's advisable to gently exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells. This helps the sugaring paste adhere better to the hair and reduces the chance of hair follicles becoming blocked.
4. Avoid strong products: Avoid strong hair removal products, such as wax or depilatory creams, for about two weeks before sugaring. These products can make the skin more sensitive and prone to irritation.
5. Avoid moisturizer: Do not use moisturizer immediately before the treatment, as it can make the skin slippery and hinder sugaring.
6. Stay clean: Thoroughly wash your skin before the treatment to remove dirt, oils, and cosmetics. Also, if possible, avoid sweating before the treatment.
7. Avoid caffeine: Avoid drinking caffeinated beverages before the treatment, as they can increase skin sensitivity.
8. Take pain medication if needed: If you have a low pain threshold or fear pain, you can take pain medication about an hour before the treatment. However, remember to consult your doctor for appropriate dosages and possible contraindications.
